Why Locals Love CASA CHOLA
Nestled in the heart of San Martín de los Andes, CASA CHOLA stands out as an authentic Argentine dining gem that delights both locals and travelers alike. This charming restaurant and espresso bar beautifully marries traditional Argentine flavors with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to savor a memorable meal after a day of exploring Neuquén’s breathtaking landscapes.
CASA CHOLA’s menu is a celebration of regional and classic Argentine cuisine, featuring beloved staples that truly capture the essence of local gastronomy. Diners rave about the empanadas — perfectly golden pockets bursting with rich, savory fillings — and the provoleta, a melted cheese starter that feels indulgently creamy with every bite. The star of the show, undoubtedly, is their expertly grilled steak, cooked to tender perfection, offering a juicy, flavorful experience that lingers long after the last bite. For those looking to sample more local treasures, the fresh trout showcases the area’s renowned fishery, while the risotto and fish dishes reflect the kitchen’s commitment to thoughtful, beautifully executed meals.
The dessert selection deserves special mention — the lava cake with its molten dulce de leche core offers a luscious, sweet finale that comforts and excites simultaneously. This dessert alone encapsulates the genuine passion CASA CHOLA pours into every plate.
What truly elevates the dining experience here is the attentive, warm hospitality that guests frequently applaud. Whether you arrive a bit early or on a bustling reopening day, the staff's friendliness and eagerness to cater to your needs create a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Coupled with welcoming service and the cozy ambience of a neighborhood espresso bar intertwined with a vibrant restaurant space, CASA CHOLA feels like a home away from home.
Many patrons have noted the excellent value — generous portions paired with reasonable prices make it both accessible and rewarding. The close relationship with Hotel Tunqueles enhances the overall experience, allowing visitors to combine a comfortable stay with exquisite dining just steps away.

This Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic argentine dining experience! The empanadas and provoleta as starters were excellent and the steak was simply exceptional! The lava cake with liquid dulce de leche filling was the perfect end to a perfect dinner!

Restaurant that belongs to the Tenquelei hotel. We went on the re-opening day because they had a 40% off discount. Everything was superb, the friendly, fast service, the great environment and especially the food. All the dishes we tried were delicious and abundant, I wish I could have tried more things. They have typical dishes from the area, like the trout, and other Argentinian and Italian food. Highly recommended, although it is only open for dinner.

We were visiting and starving, the restaurant came well recommended by our host and so we ended up there a bit earlier than dinner time. The staff was super gracious to let us eat a bit earlier, warm and very friendly. We ordered the risotto and fish and both dishes were super! I think what we appreciated was their hospitality.

Best meal we had in Argentina! The chef was enthusiastic about his food and it came through in every bite. Great atmosphere, quenching drinks and the empanadas are top shelf! Make sure to add this to your places to visit!!
